Description
The overall objective of the project is capacity building for strengthening the social cohesion in crisis regions of Northern Iraq with a large number of Syrian refugees as well as internally displaced people. The following instruments are used: educational and advisory measures, practical research activities, information, communication and publication activities, process engineering, implementation and monitoring as well as follow-up activities.
Target groups of the project are syrian refugees and internally displaced people in camps as well as local Iraqi farmers in the neighbouring host communities. By re-useing greywater from the camps in agriculture, the cooperation between the local population and refugees/IDPs is strengthened and the social cohesion in the region is improved. Furthermore, the agricultural re-use of greywater inside the camps contributes to improve the local environmental conditions, to protect natural ressources, to increase the agricultural productivity as well as to create jobs and improved income conditions for refugees/IDPs and the local community.
