8,1 BILLION PEOPLE LIVE ON THIS PLANET

3.6 billion lack access to safely managed sanitation*

This undermines all dimensions of sustainable development:
society, economy and the environment.

Changing lives through sanitation

Together for a better world

The global challenge of inadequate sanitation has far-reaching social, economic and environmental impacts. Our vision is a world in which all people have access to safe and sustainable sanitation solutions, waste is treated in a resource-efficient manner, and cities are designed to be environmentally friendly and future-proof.

Our vision is our mission

To realise this vision, we promote and implement sustainable water, wastewater and solid waste solutions, as well as community-based sanitation worldwide. By working together with local partners and communities, we create environmentally and socially just living spaces.

Global commitment to sustainable solutions

BORDA is currently active in five key regions – from Africa to Asia – and is committed to sustainable wastewater solutions. Our goal is to improve access to basic services while preserving natural resources.

In close cooperation with local partners, we develop solutions that are adapted to specific local needs and conditions. Whether in urban or rural areas, locally or globally – we rely on practical, adaptable approaches that create trust.
