BORDA Mauritania

In Mauritania, BORDA is spearheading initiatives to decentralize basic sanitation, aiming to transform communities by improving hygienic conditions, fostering economic opportunities, and promoting sustainable practices. Our projects in Mauritania are designed to address the unique  challenges faced by local communities and to provide long-lasting, sustainable solutions. The country teams for Mauritania are currently being set up and our strategic goals in the region are to :

Promote Recycling and Reuse

Our demonstration plant plays a crucial role in advancing recycling and reuse practices. By focusing on the processing of wastewater and organic waste, the plant converts these materials into valuable resources such as biogas and compost. This not only enhances waste management but also supports sustainable resource use in the region.

Environmental Protection

The plant significantly contributes to environmental protection by minimizing the environmental impact of waste disposal. Through its operations, it helps to safeguard local ecosystems and reduce pollution, ensuring a healthier and more sustainable environment for local communities.

Economic Opportunities

In addition to environmental benefits, the plant supports local businesses engaged in the recycling and reuse processes. By creating economic opportunities and fostering local entrepreneurship, it contributes to the economic development of the region, benefiting the local population and strengthening community resilience.
